Raising awareness on cybersecurity together with Tele2

Back to News

We are in the last week of our most recent cybersecurity accelerator program – CyberNorth 2. In a few days our accelerated teams will be pitching at Demo Day as part of Latitude59 conference in Tallinn, Estonia. First time this event happening in August and in a “hybrid” format – part of audience joining in online and part on-site.

It is also a historic moment for our program – it started right before pandemic hit Europe and this is the second time the founders meet again in real life after traveling home to spend lockdown with their loved ones. When borders were closing and everyone went remote, teams still continued acceleration in an online format. Now, once they have rejoined physically in Estonia, we are super excited to partner up with Tele2 to be hosted at their beautiful Tallinn office and working together on helping startups in their last weeks of acceleration and also bringing cybersecurity on top of mind of SMEs and entrepreneurs during Tele2 “cybersecurity month”.

Now that the majority of people work from home offices, it is more important than ever to reinforce safe behavior in the digital world. We are working with subject experts from Startup Wise Guys’ business accelerator to raise our own employees as well as our clients’ awareness in cybersecurity and the possible threats in the cyberworld.

The CyberNorth program is at the forefront of innovation and the fight against cybercrime by funding, mentoring, and accelerating startups that work in the space. This is already our second cybersecurity focused acceleration program run from Tallinn.

Cybersecurity is a board-level issue. It is up to CEOs, directors, and managers to set up sufficient security policies within the company and it is up to them to educate their colleagues and create a workplace culture surrounding cybersecurity awareness.

Tele2’s cybersecurity month’s main topics are security at work and home, fraud, and information and business security. In the span of the program, from the 17th until the 28th of August, there will be workshops, where
mentors from Tele2 and Startup Wise Guys will advise startups on business risks, sales, marketing and IT matters.

It is incredibly important that our clients know to pay attention to business risks and that they would have the necessary knowledge to protect their companies. This is why we also include our business clients in the program. We are constantly contemplating how we can support our clients and we hope that with these workshops we can help make our clients’ businesses more secure.

Cybersecurity month’s main event is a workshop on the 25th of August, where Tele2’s business clients will be given helpful cybersecurity know-how.
