Startup Wise Guy’s origins began in 2012 and, since then, we’ve seen firsthand the incredible potential of investing in international startups. We also have a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities that arise. Now, we’re excited to share our expertise with you through the Angels Up Academy.

You’ll have access to expert-led workshops, real-life case studies, and networking opportunities with other investors and industry leaders. And, by the end of it, you will have the tools to make an informed personal startup investment decision.

Essentially, you will learn how to invest in international startups in 8 sessions: from theory to an actual investment. And you will join a community of like minded professionals with exclusive access to content, investment opportunities & events available for our Alumni only.

    3. Financial capacity: You should be willing and able to pay the program fee of €2,500+VAT.

Note that Pillar 2 encompasses the actual investment process, while Pillar 1 provides the necessary foundational knowledge to carry out effective angel investing. Pillar 3 focuses on the startups and their development, leading up to Graduation Day with startups pitching to the participants of the program.

Once you enroll in this program & make your first investment in one of Startup Wise Guys’ portfolio, you'll have access to a community of like-minded investors who are as passionate as you (and us!) about investing in startups. You will have the opportunity to attend unique events around the world & unlock exclusive content.

Program Details

  • This course is 4 weeks long, a total of 8 sessions (2 per week) with 17 hours of live content in total. 
  • This bootcamp edition is open to participants everywhere in the world, however please bear in mind the online live sessions will be running in the CET time zone (see below for more details).
  • Seats are limited to 20 participants to ensure the quality of the sessions & networking.
  • 7 out of 8 sessions will be conducted online. For those who are unable to attend the live sessions, recordings will be made available.
  • The last session, on Friday 23rd June, will be happening onsite in Málaga, at The Pool (in Marbella), where a cocktail lunch will be provided after the session. – While options for convenience will be provided, participants are responsible for covering the cost of their flight ticket and accommodation.

The Angels Up Academy is for you if

  1. You have a genuine interest in investing in startups and innovative projects.
  2. You speak and understand English proficiently (so you can understand the content of the program and communicate with the rest of participants and investors from the community).
  3. You are willing to pay €2,500+VAT for the program.
  4. You can attend at least 50% of the live sessions (4 out 8 sessions).

This program is designed for individuals who meet the requirements listed above. Seats are limited to 20 people maximum, thus one sent the pre-inscription a selection of profiles will be made.

Once you have finished the program, we will share with you our active dealflow of startups from Startup Wise Guys’ portfolio. If interested, you will be free to invest on your own or via a syndicate.

After making your first investment in one of Startup Wise Guys’ portfolio, you’ll have access to the Alumni Community of like-minded investors who are as passionate as you (and us!) about investing in startups.

  • What is the Angels Up Academy?

    At Startup Wise Guys, we decided to create a program that contributes to professionalizing the European investing ecosystem and supporting entrepreneurs. Angels Up Academy is designed to equip you with the knowledge, skills, and strategies needed to invest in startups: from theory to an actual investment.

    In the past eleven years, Startup Wise Guys has managed to build a portfolio of 350+ startups from 65+ countries, with 13 exits (for now!) and a multiplier of 22x. From founders to founders, from ecosystem to ecosystem. We know the startup ecosystem from inside out.

    The education provided in the Angels Up Academy is delivered by Startup Wise Guys’ professional network in various sectors, as well as by experienced angel investors who share their experiences and best practices from all over the world.

  • How does the program content look like?

    This program is delivered in English and is 4 weeks long, split into 8 sessions:

    • 4 theoretical workshops 
    • 1 session attending Startup Wise Guys Scouting Pitch Session Days
    • Exclusive access to Startup Wise Guys’ Pre-Accelerator Program content
    • 1 session for Mentoring Startups
    • 1 Fireside Chat hosted by investors
    • 1 final session with Startups pitching to investors (Graduation Day)

    ll of these sessions will be online, except the last one of them, which will be happening in Marbella at The Pool on Friday 23rd June from 10:00 to 13:00 (CET time).

  • Do I need to pay to participate?

    The cost of the program is €2,500+VAT per participant.

  • Do I need to have invested in a startup before?

    No, the purpose of the Angels Up Academy is for anyone who is interested in learning how to invest in startups can learn and do it right after the program.

  • Do I have to invest in a startup after the program?

    Once you have finished the program, we will share with you our active dealflow of startups from Startup Wise Guys’ portfolio. If interested only, you will be free to invest on your own or via a syndicate.

  • Are there any geographical restrictions for who can apply?

    No, this program is open for anyone in the world. However, please bear in mind that the online live sessions will happen in the CET time zone.

     

  • What is expected from me as a participant in the Angels Up Academy?

    We expect you:

    • To attend a minimum of 50% of the sessions (4 out of 8).
    • To speak and understand English proficiently (so you can understand the content of the program and communicate with the rest of participants and investors from the community).
    • To pay €2,500+VAT for the program.
    • To make the most of it and enjoy! 🙂 
  • What is the time commitment?

    We have taken into consideration that you will be doing this program while you are potentially busy in your day-to-day, so we have ensured that sessions are between 1 hour and 3 hours long. This course is made up of 17 hours of live content across 8 sessions in total (+ any additional time you commit to it beyond the live sessions).

  • Will the program happen online or on-site?

    7 out of 8 sessions will be conducted online. For those who are unable to attend the live sessions, recordings will be made available.

    The last session, on Friday 23rd June, will be happening onsite in Málaga, at The Pool (in Marbella). A cocktail lunch will be provided after the session. While options for convenience will be provided, participants are responsible for covering the cost of their flight ticket and accommodation.

  • Will all the online sessions be recorded?

    Yes, but they will be shared only with the program participants for you to watch on your own time if you can't attend the live sessions (which we highly recommend so you can participate in the Q&A session).
