Wise Guys SaaS Milan is run by three awesome SWG people – Giovanni Khoury, Managing Director of the batch, and Andrea Orlando our Managing Partner of Startup Wise Guys Italy, the guys will be working closely together with –Sara Sabry, our program coordinator, who has already done an amazing job at managing recent SaaS-Tallinn and SaaS-Milan batch before that.

We are excited to start our 34th batch with 11 startups and 33 founders representing 5 countries. These founders come from diverse backgrounds and experiences. I am confident they have the right mindset to leverage the knowledge they are bringing in and make use of the resources made available to them. I expect great results from the startups by the end of the program and beyond.

Two years of SWG in Italy

After celebrating two successful years on the Italian market with 2 previous batches, we are thrilled to start the third out of four SaaS-Milan programs we have planned in Italy as part of our European expansion strategy with the goal to help to build even more successful tech companies in Europe. It all started with a crowdfunding campaign where we fundraised 1.2M EUR at the beginning of the pandemic to support and invest in both Italian startups, as well as those eager to expand into the Italian market. We are already looking forward to the fourth batch and welcoming new startups into our SWG family.

Also, we have recently finished our first CyberXcelerator program in partnership with CDP Venture Capital, the venture arm of Italian investment bank CDP (Cassa Depositi e Prestiti) that ran in Cosenza, Italy. CyberXcelerator program consists of a three-year investment in at least 30 startups, comprising three batches of eight to twelve startups each and we are already looking forward to launching the second batch this September.
